We are seeking a couple wonderful guardian homes for 2 of our males. Please email pudelcrazy@gmail.com if you are interested.

When being a Guardian to one of our dogs, the dogs are placed with you at no charge to the family. You get a great family dog, in return we retain breeding rights.

When they are retired from breeding, they are spayed and neutered and permanently reside with their Guardian homes for the balance of their lives

What is a Guardian Home?

A Guardian home is a family that provides a wonderful loving home for one of our intact breeding dogs.

The Guardian home provides all normal vetting, flea/tick control, heartworm prevention, and grooming. All testing associated with breeding will be paid for by Autumn Shades Standard Poodles.

  • Current pets must be altered
  • Be willing to enroll puppy into obedience classes (if it is a puppy you are fostering).
  • Be willing to transport dog to vet appointments when needed or back to Autumn Shades Standard Poodles for breedings.
  • Be willing to undergo our screening process fill out an application and have home visit.
  • Feed a quality dog food
  • Keep the dog safe and secure and treated as a family pet.
  • Must agree to keep in regular contact with Autumn Shades Standard Poodles.

Why do we need Guardian Homes?

Here at Autumn Shades Standard Poodles we do not believe in dogs living in kennels full-time. Standard Poodles do not do well in kennel environments. They are people dogs and want to be with people not in a kennel. We like to watch a couple pups from a litter to see who will mature into the breeding dogs we want to use to continue on with our breeding program. Once we decide who we are keeping we like to place them into homes where they will get the individual attention they deserve.

Males are kept intact for their lifetime and are used as needed.
